Hello friends, my name is

Jonathan Bassett.

I began my studies with the classical guitar at the age of 14. I remember early on being very impressed by it’s ability to communicate a wide range of emotions to the listener. The connection between the performer and his audience is very special to me; one that I strive to keep at the center of my focus whenever I play. I have developed a deep love for the intricacies of the instrument and a commitment to explore the depth of its colorful poetry. I believe that guitar music is therapeutic for the soul and affords a small but welcome respite from the day-to-day pressures of life. This I have experienced personally, as the guitar has been a great source of comfort for me through various seasons of life.

My goal in music is to share this experience with my listeners. I have had the privilege of studying the guitar in both private lessons and master classes with accomplished artists such as Christopher Parkening, Pepe Romero, and Christopher McGuire. I have performed at weddings, concerts, and other events for several years, as well as conducted private lessons both in person and online. I also enjoy composing and arranging for the instrument and have a compilation of original music that is available. I look forward to sharing the fellowship that this instrument makes possible.
